New Features

1. Job Creation via Interface

A new feature has been introduced in Codex, enabling job creation through the interface. Users with the appropriate permissions can now efficiently initiate various jobs to perform bulk processes, including importing assets, importing entries, deleting site content, creating new environments, and synchronizing and deleting environments. This feature grants authorized users the ability to execute jobs on a large scale, enhancing efficiency and flexibility within Codex.

2. Audio and Podcast Integration

New feature has been implemented in Codex, expanding the range of supported assets. In addition to images, videos, files, and playlists, users can now seamlessly upload and integrate audios and podcasts directly from VP Player within the Asset Management Hub. This enhancement empowers users to enhance their articles, enrich content, and craft engaging stories, representing a significant advancement in Codex functionality.

3. Enhanced Special Character Usage

Users now have the ability to seamlessly use and add special characters anywhere within Codex. Simply click on the special characters, and a window will appear with an extensive selection for direct integration or copying to the clipboard for future use. This feature streamlines the process, making it more efficient for users to incorporate the necessary special characters into their content, enhancing the overall experience across Codex.

4. Enable Content Models in Lists

In Codex, a new feature allows users with appropriate permissions to configure the inclusion of entries from enabled content models to a List. This empowers users to manage Lists more effectively by enabling or disabling content models, ensuring that entries are added only by the desired content models based on their specific purposes or needs.

5. Bulk Editing of Assets at Entry Level

A new feature has been implemented for the bulk editing of assets in the Media field and Media block within an entry. Users can now directly edit multiple assets at the field level in an entry. This includes selecting specific assets, choosing an initial and last asset for bulk editing of metadata, and the option to bulk remove assets from the Media field or block. This enhancement streamlines the process, making it more efficient for users to manage multiple assets directly within entry fields.

6. Navigation to Entries from Sections

Codex now includes a feature that allows users to navigate from Sections to entries. Users can easily locate and navigate to desired entries within a specific section, improving the overall efficiency of accessing and editing entries associated with a particular section.

7. URL Field Enhancements
  • Required Field Validation: A new validation has been added to the URL field, allowing model creators to mark it as a required field. Editors are now prompted to fill in this field before publishing an article, ensuring consistency and preventing articles from being published with an empty URL.

  • Regex Validation: In addition to the required field validation, Regex validation has been introduced for the URL field. Users can now define a specific pattern that must be matched in entries within the URL field when attempting to publish an article. This ensures that the URLs adhere to a specified format, enhancing data integrity.

8. Team Permissions Enhancements
  • Image Presets Permissions: New permissions have been introduced in the Team permissions section of Codex, specifically for Image Presets within the Builder component. Users can now be assigned specific permissions related to Image Presets, granting them the ability to view, edit, manage, and delete these presets. With these permissions, only the team and users with the designated access can execute these actions, providing a more tailored control over Image Presets.

  • Version History Permissions for Entries, Assets, and Models: Team permissions have been expanded to include version history permissions for various entities in Codex, such as entries, assets, and models. Users can now be assigned specific permissions for the version history of each entity, encompassing the ability to view, edit, manage, and delete version history records. These permissions ensure that only the team and users with the assigned rights can perform these specific actions, offering a heightened level of control over the versioning aspects of entries, assets, and models.

General Improvements

1. Default Folder per Site for Uploading

An enhancement has been implemented in the Site settings pertaining to the default asset folder. Users can now select a default asset folder in the site settings, and any images uploaded by dragging and dropping them into the Media Field will automatically be uploaded to the chosen asset folder.

2. Notification when Editing a Scheduled Entry

An enhancement has been introduced for entries, specifically Scheduled entries. In Codex, changes made after the last version of a Scheduled entry will be published. Users will now receive a notification upon opening a Scheduled entry, informing them that any changes made will be published at the scheduled time.

3. New Options when Scheduling an Entry

Improvements have been made to the Scheduling process of entries. After scheduling an entry, users now have the option to either Schedule and continue editing or stay in the entry, providing more flexibility in the workflow.

4. New Option for Help Text Appearance for Fields

A new option has been added to configure the appearance of Help text in entry fields. Users can now choose whether they want the Help text to be fully shown at the top of the field in the entry, enhancing readability during field interactions.

5. Inclusion of a Confirmation Pop-up for Asset Metadata

A confirmation pop-up has been added to asset metadata management, notifying users of unsaved changes. This ensures that users are aware of any pending changes to asset metadata and prompts them to confirm whether they want to leave without saving.

6. Inclusion of Child Sections in Sections Filters

A new feature allows users to include child sections when filtering entries by Sections system filters. This enables users to better view entries associated with main sections and locate desired entries based on their needs.

7. Additional Criteria for Label Filtering

New options have been added to label system filters, allowing users to filter entries based on operators such as Some, None, Is empty, and Is not empty. This enhances the filtering capabilities, enabling users to locate entries more effectively based on label criteria.

8. Prevention of Deleting Tags with Referenced Entries

A new improvement has been implemented on the Tag Management page, preventing users from deleting a tag that includes a referenced entry. This safeguard is crucial as tags with referenced entries serve various purposes, making this enhancement valuable in maintaining data integrity and functionality.

9. Prevention of Deleting Published Entries

A new improvement has been made in the entries, addressing the possibility of deleting content from a site. Users are now prevented from deleting entries that are published or edited. Consequently, users must first unpublish these entries before they have the option to delete them from their site. This enhancement safeguards the integrity of published content and minimizes the risk of accidental deletions.

Bug Fixes

  1. Saving Asset Folder in Local Storage at Entry Level - Resolved the issue where the last opened asset folder at the entry level was not being saved for the user.

  2. "Manage shared views" permission was not working properly - Resolved the issue where the "Manage shared views" permission was not available; then, users couldn't create private views as well.
