New Features

1. Possibility to set Focal Point in Images

Focal Point feature in Codex offers users the ability to specify the focal point of images, enhancing the visual appeal and usability of images in their front-end applications. At the asset level within the Asset Management Hub, users can easily set the focal point for each image, ensuring that their assets look their best when incorporated into various media. Moreover, Codex extends the flexibility of the Focal Point feature to the entry level, allowing users to set unique focal points for the same image in different media fields within an entry. This is particularly useful when users need to tailor their visuals to specific media field ratios. This flexibility empowers users to optimize visuals for various contexts and media.

2. Creation of Ratios in the Media Field

A new feature in the Media Field allows users to create and specify Ratios for media fields within an entry. This empowers users to tailor visuals to specific media field ratios, enhancing the adaptability of visuals for diverse contexts and media presentations.

3. Enabling and Disabling Toolbar Options in Rich Content Field

A new feature has been introduced in the Rich Content Field to manage toolbar options. Users now have the ability to configure which toolbar options are displayed and accessible in the Rich Content Field during content creation and editing. This customization streamlines the toolbar by presenting only the options relevant to users' specific needs.

4. Multiple Selection of Assets

Enhancements have been made to asset selection, offering multiple methods for users to select assets according to their preferences. Users can use keyboard shortcuts to select multiple assets in the Asset Management Hub, as well as in the Media Field and Media Block modal, such as:

  1. Shift Key: Select assets between the first selected item and the last selected item.

  2. Ctrl / Command (for Mac users): Select assets in specific locations within folders.

  3. Ctrl+A / Command+A (for Mac users): Select all assets within the viewport.

These improvements make it simpler to select multiple assets for bulk editing or various purposes.

General Improvements

1. Enhanced Assets Metrics

Enhanced the Metrics section of an entry by including metrics for all asset types within that entry, not just images. When you hover over the Assets metrics, you'll now see a breakdown of all asset types, including images, videos, files, and playlists. This enhancement provides users with a clearer view of the assets incorporated into their content.

2. URL Option for Assets in Media Block

A new option to add URLs has been introduced in the toolbar of the Media Block. Users now have the capability to include URLs within the Media Block for their assets, providing greater versatility and utility to meet diverse needs.

3. Highlighted Factbox and Exergue Blocks

Factbox and Exergue blocks now feature a highlighted color. This enhancement aids users in easily identifying and distinguishing these blocks within their content, contributing to a more user-friendly editing experience.

4. Sections Creation Expanded to Seventh Level

In an enhancement to our Sections creation feature, users can now create sections up to the seventh level. This added flexibility is particularly valuable for scenarios that require the creation of deeply nested sections.

5. Name Displayed for Image Presets

In the Image Presets Listing, we've included an additional improvement by displaying the Name information alongside other preset details. This enhancement offers users a more comprehensive overview of their image presets.

6. Extended Error Message Duration

Improved the duration of error messages displayed at the bottom left corner of entries. The duration has been extended to double its previous length, allowing users ample time to read and comprehend error messages, which may appear for various reasons, leading to a smoother and more informed user experience.

7. Dynamic Variables for Sites

A new enhancement has been implemented, introducing dynamic variables for sites. This enhancement allows for the incorporation of key-value pairs associated with each site, providing the capability to utilize dynamic variables for various purposes in accordance with specific requirements.

Bug Fixes

  1. Duplicated Tags in an Entry - Fixed the issue where two tags with the same alias were mistakenly present within an entry.

  2. Heading Characters not counted in Metrics - Fixed the issue where characters within heading textual blocks were not being counted in the Metrics section of the side panel within an entry.

  3. Data loss during Image Preset Creation - Fixed the issue that resulted in data loss when attempting to create an Image Preset that already existed within the modal.
