New Features

1. Distinguishing Images based on Expiration Date

A new implementation has been introduced in the Asset Management Hub to distinguish images with expired dates. This enhancement includes the differentiation of images that are approaching their expiration date and those that have already expired, each indicated with distinct symbols. This feature aims to facilitate user identification and utilization of assets within content according to their requirements.

2. Adding Assets through default Filters

An additional improvement has been incorporated into the Rich Content Field for adding block of images, videos, files, and playlists. Alongside the existing method of searching the Media keyword to add assets in Rich Content, users now have the option to directly search specific types of assets by using commands such as /image, /video, /file, and /playlist. As a result, the asset selection modal will be automatically filtered, displaying assets based on their types. This enhancement is designed to streamline the process of adding images, videos, files, and other assets into content, reducing the time and effort required by users.

3. Character Limit and Count for Fields

A new improvement has been implemented in the entry editor to manage character limits and counts for fields. Once the character limits and counts have been configured in the model, users will receive real-time feedback on the number of characters they've typed into the fields while editing. This functionality aims to simplify the user experience by providing immediate visibility into the character count, enabling users to identify potential overflows or shortfalls in character input early on.

4. URLs for View and Preview Entries

A new feature has been introduced that pertains to both the View and Preview URLs for entries. In addition to the existing Preview URL, which enables users to preview an entry after it has been saved, a new View URL has been added in the side panel of the Content Editor. This View URL enables editors to directly access the published entry live within their domain once it has been published.

General Improvements

1. Metadata Migration to cropped Image details

A new enhancement has been introduced in the Asset Management Hub, specifically when editing an asset and subsequently saving it as a new asset. When a user engages in image editing or cropping, all associated metadata will seamlessly migrate to the newly saved asset. This encompasses essential details such as title, caption, alt text, source, author name, copyright information, tags, and expiration date. This integration of metadata ensures consistency across assets and significantly simplifies the process of recognizing and efficiently utilizing the assets.

2. Video Playback at Entry Level

Users now can play videos at the entry level with a single click, eliminating the need for multiple steps. Upon clicking on a video within the Media Field or Media Block, the video will instantly commence playback within its embedded format. This enhancement substantially streamlines the user experience, making it effortless for users to identify and utilize videos in alignment with their requirements.

3. Multiple identical References in Lists

A new capability has been incorporated, enabling users to include identical references multiple times within a List of Entries. This improvement empowers users to utilize these references for diverse purposes, considering factors such as time range, postion, and other variables.

4. Image Resolution display in Media Field and Media Block

An additional information related to assets in the Media Field and Media Block pertains to image resolution display. Users are now provided with the image resolution information at the entry level within both the Media Field and Media Block. This data equips users with valuable insights into image quality and resolution, enhancing their ability to select suitable assets for their needs.

5. Video Duration display in List View

The List View within the Asset Management Hub now also shows the video durations through a dedicated column. This improvement helps users to easily access the information concerning video lengths, particularly beneficial when incorporating videos into the entry editor.

6. Storing the last page in Entries Listing

While navigating in the Entries listing, Codex now remembers the last visited page by the user. When a user moves from the Entries Listing to view a particular entry and then returns, the system saves the last viewed entries listing page. This functionality enhances workflow continuity by removing the necessity to manually navigate through entries listing pages again.

7. Section ID display

Additional information has been incorporated into the sections of the site. Users now have the ability to view the specific ID assigned to each section, available in read-only mode by accessing the corresponding section modal. This section metadata can serve diverse user purposes, tailored to their individual needs.

Bug Fixes

  1. Sorting Order of Assets with Diacritics - Fixed the bug where assets starting with Latin letters were being prioritized over diacritics when sorting in descending order under "A to Z". This issue has been resolved, ensuring that Latin letters and diacritics are now considered similarly when sorting.

  2. Global Search not retrieving Assets - Fixed the issue where the global search feature was not properly retrieving assets. Users can now expect assets to be displayed when searching for relevant keywords.

  3. Edited Status of Entry without interaction - Fixed the bug occurring in certain published entries, where the status was changed to "Edited" immediately upon opening the entry, without directly making any changes.

  4. Latency in Metrics Sections - Fixed the issue within the metrics section, where calculations were not being promptly displayed upon entry opening. Users can now expect to see metrics without delay.

  5. Code displaying in Entry Version comparison - Fixed the issue where code was being displayed during the comparison of entry versions, when no value was added. This bug has been resolved, ensuring accurate version comparison.
