A representation of new additional features and improvements that have been released in Codex.

New Features

1. Possibility to create and manage Image Presets

Users are now empowered to create and manage Image Presets at the organization level. This feature enables users to define specific parameters associated with each preset, including name, alias, dimensions (width and height), resizing options, gravity settings, and assigned sites. The ability to create customized image presets based on these parameters provides users with a streamlined process for Front-end development, ensuring images are tailored to their precise requirements and facilitating efficient implementation.

2. Entries Lists responsive design

To further enhance user experience, Lists now feature responsive design, catering to the needs of mobile device users. This update allows users to seamlessly add new entires to a list, create and manage lists on their mobile devices, ensuring convenient access and usability regardless of their location or device.

3. Codex Fields filters in Entry Listings

Codex offers out-of-the-box entities which can now be used to filter all entries from all models. With Codex Fields such as Sections, Tags, Authors, Assets, and Entries, users have a versatile range of filtering options at their disposal. This empowers them to efficiently search for and locate desired entries, supporting diverse usage scenarios in different contexts.

4. Remembering the most recent view of Assets at folder level

To enhance user experience, a new functionality has been introduced allowing users to view the most recent asset display settings at the folder level. This means that any applied searches or filtering criteria within a folder will be saved and retained when switching between folders. By preserving these options, users can conveniently locate and access desired assets based on previous search activities and specific filtering conditions.

General Improvements

1. Quick “View” button in References Modal

A quick "View" button has been introduced in the entries listed within the Reference Field/Block. This feature enables users to swiftly preview entries and gain a better understanding of the content they intend to include in a Reference Field/Block. By providing a quick view option, users can efficiently assess and select the desired entries for their references.

2. Enhancements in folder management permissions

Users can now have restricted access to manage only the folders that they have been granted permission for. This improvement ensures that users can efficiently oversee and administer folders within their authorized scope, maintaining a secure and controlled environment.

3. Additional information in Assets in Media Field

The Asset Management Hub now offers an expanded set of filtering criteria to enhance asset discovery. These new criteria include Created date, Updated date, Expiration date, Created by, Updated by, and Duration. Users can now leverage these filters to easily locate desired assets based on specific criteria, including the option to filter videos based on their duration.

4. Search Enhancements in Asset Management Hub

The overall search functionality within the Asset Management Hub has been improved. Users can now conduct asset searches within a parent folder, which includes assets located within its child folders. This enhancement streamlines asset search operations, allowing users to search for assets across multiple folders simultaneously. The search functionality incorporates several key parameters, including Title, FileName, Caption, Alt, Author, Source, and Tags. Notably, the Title field carries higher priority in influencing the search results.

5. Identification of required metadata fields in Assets

Users can now easily distinguish the required metadata fields of assets when adding them to an entry. This enhancement enables users to promptly identify and modify the necessary metadata fields within the Media Field/Block, ensuring a seamless publishing process.

6. Changing the Entries Views from Private to Shared and Vice-Versa

Users now have the capability to switch between private and shared views for Entries. This new functionality empowers users to modify the visibility of their Entries, enabling them to change the view status as needed and align it with their specific requirements and purposes.

7. First Published Date display of the Entries

The First Published Date, indicating the initial publication date of an entry, is now prominently displayed in the right-side panel of the entry, entry listings, and system filters. Users can still manage the information they decide to show in the side panel in the Model Builder settings.

Bug Fixes

  1. Assets searching, filtering, and sorting: Resolved issues and enhanced functionality related to asset searching, filtering, and sorting.

  2. Inserting an image in Media Field: Fixed the issue that prevented image insertion in the Media field, in certain versions of Safari.

  3. "Referenced by" tab in right-side panel: Fixed the issue where the "Referenced by" tab in the right-side panel of an entry was displaying as empty.
